glasstec24 - Strategic application technology
Glass producers need to respond swiftly to rising demand, boost plant margins, and achieve decarbonization goals while cutting costs during low demand. Messer’s Oxipyr technology enhances glass manufacturing by using oxygen combustion for better energy efficiency, increased furnace output, lower costs, and reduced NOx and CO2 emissions. Available in different versions, the standard Oxipyr burner features a pipe-in-pipe design, integrated ignition, UV monitoring, and customizable flame length/shape. Messer also offers thermodynamic simulation tools for optimizing furnace efficiency. Additionally, special burners have been developed to use hydrogen as a natural gas substitute in industrial processes.
